Editing for Ares:
Ares I First Stage: Powering NASA’s newest rocket Ares First Stage fact sheet. I worked as editor, backgrounder, and update fact checker.Ares: Launch and Propulsion, Editor This grade 5-12 teachers guide gives students a hands-on opportunity to experiment with variables that might affect the performance of a launch vehicle. I worked as editor, update fact checker, and with the final publication to print design team.Engineering Design Challenge: Thermal Protection Systems, Editor Grade 6-9 teachers guide. Working in teams students design, build, and test a thermal protection system of their own. I worked as editor, update fact checker, and with the final publication to print design team.Engineering Design Challenge: Spacecraft Structures, Editor Grade 6-9 teachers guide. Students develop basic aerospace engineering skills as they undertake the problem of designing a strong but lightweight thrust structure that can withstand the launch of a bottle rocket by means of a wooden lever. Online Editing, Publishing, Web and Content Development:
Magic Stream, Editor, Publisher and Site Designer This was my first online publication and still going strong. I started it from scratch way back in the day of "home pages." The site has received numerous awards from around the globe, and was a participant in the 1996 Internet World Expo.
Women's Village, Editor As startup editor, I helped to develop and focus the editorial slant. I was responsible for pulling together a writing team, assigning articles, copy editing, HTML code, posting articles, pulling news, developing feature spreads, etc.Asian American Village, Contributing Editor I was start up editor on this one as well. Among other things, I got the whole company involved in the President's Initiative on Race.Gina's Sweeps and Contest Page, Editor and Publisher This was one of my early web adventures. The web was still very new when I built the site. I wanted to experiment with online promotions to see what might be feasible. Initially online sweeps were quite successful, but the advent of spam put a damper on that.
